Soooo, I have realized that since I am not in a place where I can donate financially to every cause that I would like to, I am going to make a real effort to start doing things that are within my power. Since I have started drinking Shakeology, I have notice a significant change in my hair, so much so that other people have actually told me that it looks so much healthier. For years after my daughter was born, I was obsessed with the fact that my hair was thinning SIGNIFICANTLY!! It wasn't just that, the texture had changed and everything, Ugh it was terrible. However, since I started drinking Shakeology, it has filled out, is shinier and is growing like crazy!!
Well, since it is growing so much, I have decided to donate it to Locks Of Love. Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that makes prosthetic hairpieces for children who have suffered hair loss from either aloepicia, cancer, or other causes. I was going to get myself a nice haircut, something I don't normally do. Maybe it would even have a style! LOL But now, I have decided to let it grow for the next 3 or so months and cut it on June 1st. Whatever length there is below my shoulders will be donated!! I am hoping that my daughter can also hold out until June 1st and we can donate together!!
I am also going to do AIDS Walk NY with the fantastic group Fab-U-Plus !!! If anyone is interested in donating, you can find my page by clicking here. Tiffany Harris, founder of Fab-U-Plus, is FABULOUS for getting the group together to raise money, and awareness for such an important cause!!

Missing the Most Important Meal of The Day Can Lead To Weight Loss Sabotage!!
Check out this link to P90X's latest newsletter. #072 - P90X Newsletter - Healthy, Big Breakfasts - Fitness, Nutrition, Diet, Weight Loss Official Web site OK, I am going to admit it, I am not a breakfast eater!! I haven't been a breakfast eater since I was in High School. So now I have been reading more and more about getting enough carbs & protein in the morning to replenish what was lost all night long while you sleep. Don't forget, we still burn calories while we sleep. But interestingly, the article states that because our Serotonin levels are highest in the morning, (you know Serotonin, it is the Hap, Hap, Happy hormone :) ) we tend to skip breakfast. But doing so makes our serotonin levels drop later in the day. Now I know why I am so grouchy by 3:00!!! Oh but there is more, because our bodies are starving, from not having any food for all those hours, it starts to store what we eat later as fat you know, for survival reasons!!! YIKES!!
Say it with me: "From this day forth, I shall eat breakfast!!!"

A Challenge!!
| Back Pic using bands. Pre Pull Up Bar |
I need to do pull ups because I can't. I have been thinking about it since I stopped using the pull up bar that some day I would put it back up and I would learn to do pull ups. A CHALLENGE!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, a CHALLENGE!! Are there things that you are just not good at so you completely avoid them? Why not meet the challenge head on, keep trying until you can at least say that you did it. For me, until the day that I can do a full set of unassisted pull ups, I will keep trying!!
Find a challenge today. Do something today that challenges you, it does not necessarily have to be a workout, it can be making an important phone call that you have to make but have been avoiding. It could be signing up for a class that you really want to take, but that you know will be difficult and will really challenge you mentally.
Right now I am about to meet my challenge head on and get my chair and start out attempting some assisted pull ups. As soon as I am able to do some unassisted pull ups, I will some pics of my back, lets see if it makes a difference!!
